There are several elements that can contribute to topping the ball or hitting it fat (i.e. chunking, hitting the ground behind the ball). These elements can include leaving weight on the trail side of the stance, improper posture, scooping, swaying and more. A video analysis can reveal the culprits that need adjusting including posture, stance, ball position and swing path. In these recent situations, key areas that needed adjustment that contribuited to the topped and fat shots were improper setup and impact positions. Distinguishing between setup and impact is important. Yes, there is a difference.
