In this blog post I will give you what I consider one of the keys to effective putting.....drum roll....it is what I call "stroke and hold."
When you make your stroke hold the finish and keep your head and body steady until the stroke is held at the end. See the image of Rickie Fowler as an example of holding the finish (red line) and keeping the head down and body steady (yellow line). This will allow you to keep the ball rolling on the intended path. Otherwise, looking up too soon or moving the head and body can cause an offline roll and a missed putt. The goal is to avoid 3 putts and make a bunch of one putts! Use stroke and hold and you just might shave some strokes off of your game.
